About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer online and telephone counselling session to adults.

Counselling offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental relationship where you can share whatever it is that is troubling you.   In our personal relationships we may feel that we are not being truly listened to or understood.  It may be that we feel that we don't want to talk to friends and family about how we are feeling and the struggles we are facing and would prefer to talk to someone professional in a confidential space. This is when counselling can be really supportive and helpful.

I have experience of working with a wide range of clients and issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, trauma, stress, work-related stress, relationship issues, family issues, bullying and low self-confidence and low self-esteem.

Before setting up my own private practice I worked for a private counselling service offering counselling to clients all over the UK online and by telephone. I am passionate about working in this way and have seen how it has benefited many clients.

Practice description

I am a person-centred counsellor and this means that I will offer you a supportive environment where you can explore the issues that you are facing. I am interested in you as a whole person and what has happened to you that has led you to feeling the way you do, rather than just the symptoms that you are experiencing.

I offer a therapeutic relationship in which I am genuine, kind and caring. I understand that you may feel nervous about having therapy and I want to assure you that we will go at your pace.

My main focus will be putting you and your needs at the centre of our work together.

Counselling sessions are for as long you need them and can be weekly or fortnightly. We will review the therapy together as we progress through the sessions to make sure you are getting what you need and that it is working for you.

My first session

I offer a free initial 20 minute session by Zoom or telephone.

The initial free session doesn't involve any counselling but is more of a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable talking to me and for me to hear more about what brings you to counselling and for us both to get more of an idea if I am the right counsellor for you.

At the end of the initial free session if you feel you would like to book in for your first full session you can do so there and then or you can, of course, take some time to think about it and get back to me if you wish.
