About me and my therapy practice
I'm a BACP registered Psychotherapist and I offer online therapy via zoom, skype or video call and outdoor therapy sessions in Liverpool. I work with those who are committed to the process of self development and feel ready to work at a deeper level. I offer therapy on a medium to longer term basis to help you make long lasting changes to your life. I work at depth to help you transform your relationship to yourself which requires focus, commitment and desire for change.
I specialise in working with anxiety, eating disorders, low self esteem and trauma. I help you recognise and understand your unhelpful patterns and the anxiety and depression which results from difficult life events or past experiences. Sometimes feelings can come out of the blue and seem to have no apparent cause, I will help you to explore and understand this so you can make changes to how you feel. I use an integrative approach to therapy including Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, mindfulness and somatic experiencing.
I have a special interest in working with people on a spiritual path and will help you understand and work with blocks which may be hindering progress to conscious living. This work is deeply transformative and requires self compassion, trust and awareness in processing the shadow aspects of self. I also work with spiritual crisis and the difficulties that can arise during spiritual awakening.
How I work
I work on a medium or long term basis to help you make lasting positive changes to your life. If you have been experiencing anxiety or depression for a long time, it can take time to work through the patterns of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors which are maintaining your anxious or depressed feelings. The process therefore requires focus and a commitment to getting better.
I use an integrated style incorporating Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, Counselling approaches and body-centred Psychotherapy. This is because everyone is unique and different types of therapy work for different people, I tailor the style to suit you and the therapeutic relationship forms the foundation of the work. I also use mindfulness techniques to enhance your self awareness and help you make positive changes.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy and I'll explain a bit about how I work. The session takes around an hour online on zoom, skype or video call. If we can work together we can book sessions from there.
