About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome, I am an experienced therapist and coach.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is very important. I also understand that by the time many people seek a therapist, they are feeling close to their limit, I aim to see you within a week of you contacting me whenever possible.

I work in short and longer term therapy with adults.  I am based in central Havant in Hampshire but I also offer sessions by Skype, Zoom, Teams or Facetime and work nationally and internationally in this way.

I have had the privilege of working with clients with a vast range of issues, including anxiety.  I have a bespoke coaching program that I have created to work with your anxiety.  I will teach you what anxiety is, how it works, what it is for and then work with you to help you understand your own. We will then work to stop the escalation (if applicable) and along the way you will learn more about your confidence, self esteem and self worth and how it is impacted.  The aim will be to stop the escalation and then work at reducing and ideally eliminating the anxiety that is causing you problems. I would hope that within 8 sessions you will have a much greater understanding of anxiety and your own and within 12 sessions be reducing your anxiety.   The coaching is informative, light, interesting and also fun.  You will learn how to use new tools and learn about yourself that you can continue to take through life. The aim of the work is to teach you how to understand , manage and reduce your anxiety going forwards without ongoing support by anyone other than yourself.

I invite you to review the therapy/coaching as we go to ensure that you are getting what you need from the process.

I work creatively or by just talking/listening and also with humour (when appropriate of course).

Please note that the anxiety work that I do does not currently cover Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or if you are living in a dangerous or threatening situation (for example in an abusive relationship).

Practice description

Ideally attending therapy/anxiety coaching weekly initially is beneficial to begin to work on the issues that are bringing you to therapy however we can discuss this on the initial call.  If you don't intend to attend weekly please let me know.

My first session

This is an opportunity for me to understand what brings you to therapy/coaching at this time, and to know a little of your circumstances and for me to give you an overview of how I work but mainly for you to see if you are happy and confident to continue to work with me.  There is absolutely no obligation for your to do so.
