About me and my therapy practice
I am Rebecca Bauer and I run Seasgair Counselling, a Perinatal & Fertility counselling service based online.
I have been working as a counsellor since 2017, and I have helped numerous clients to explore the events in their lives that have troubled and affected them the most. This has then led to them having happier, more fulfilling lives.
I have degrees in BSc Psychology and MSc Pluralistic Counselling and have completed extra training to work as a Perinatal and Fertility Counsellor. I now run a thriving private practice helping those who have experienced issues related to their fertility, pregnancy, child birth, and the postnatal and early years period. I work with all issues related to this period in a person's life, including but not limited to: postnatal depression and other mood disorders, miscarriage, stillbirth, tokophobia (fear of pregnancy and/or giving birth), abortion, birth trauma, infant loss, child loss, pregnancy after loss, and infertility.
I chose to specialise in Perinatal and Fertility counselling after my own experiences of getting pregnant and having a baby. After being diagnosed with PCOS, after years of not getting pregnant, I knew getting pregnant would be difficult. I finally got pregnant and had my son in 2019 but ended up experiencing Birth Trauma, Postnatal Depression, and Breastfeeding Grief and Trauma, and then a miscarriage a year later. All of these experiences really lit a fire in me to help others going through the same.
So if you would like to explore working together and how I could help you meet your counselling goals, please get in touch.

I do also work via video and phone calls for those who are not able to travel to Perth & Kinross, or who are not interested in walk and talk therapy.

Where:
Walk and talk therapy is an alternative to sitting down in a room with your counsellor. Sessions take place outside, in nature.
What are the benefits of Walk and Talk therapy?
• It can be easier for those who find it too difficult sitting across from someone else.
• For those experiencing depression, it may be the only time they get outside that week.
• Being out in nature has a calming effect on the brain, meaning that your heart rate will lower and will generally have an easier time assimilating your emotions.
• It takes advantage of the mood enhancing benefits of physical activity.
• It can feel like a more natural way to talk about the harder stuff, as you walk side by side.
• It is suitable for all ages and abilities.
• It can happen no matter the weather.
