I am currently available on Mondays (9:30-4pm), Wednesdays (6-8pm) and Fridays.
I am not available on Saturdays, and Sundays.
I provide short and long-term therapy which is client-led. However, if I feel I cannot support your journey I will signpost you to the most suitable services.
I endeavour to respond to enquiries, scheduling and cancellation of appointments, by email and mobile, within these contactable hours only.
However, if you find yourself in crisis, information and contacts, outside of these working hours, can be provided, in consultation with you.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred counsellor and have experience working with children, young people and adults. With this client range, I really understand the impact on young people and adults in different areas of their lives, having experienced adversities in childhood and not ready until now to receive help, with empathy and understanding.
I am also a qualified teacher, having worked for just over 15 years in schools and recently in further education. This has enhanced my skills and knowledge and can therefore provide psycho-education to enable clients to explore their own resources and make informed decisions.
I am here to enable you to exact change that is appropriate for you as an individual.
I believe everyone is unique in their lived experiences and so to accommodate this I work to tailor my approach and interventions to suit you as an individual, within your particular circumstances.
Reaching out for a counsellor who listens without judgement and provides a space to explore your lived experiences is the minimal you would expect from me. The important part of your counselling journey is the relationship we build together on respect, trust and understanding.
It may be difficult sometimes to express what you are experiencing verbally and identify what you are feeling. If this is you, then I am happy to offer creative ways of working to enable other suitable forms of expression.
I am especially interested in working with women's and men's issues, trauma and abuse, and 'social graces' that may gravely affect issues linked to personal identity.

My first session
An initial 30 minute session is offered online or by telephone to get a better understanding of your worries, within cultural, societal and familial contexts, as well as, consideration of whether we can work together short- or long-term.
I am trained in the person-centred approach, able to work with interventions tailored to the individual, whether it is coaching or psychoeducation, where I believe you are the expert in your life experiences.
I am also interested in engaging with people from different ethnicities and heritages, providing a space where difficult topics such as race, identity and discrimination can be explored, and you feel listened to in an empathic and non-judgemental way.
