About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and highly experienced counsellor working privately with over 23 years experience. I have the fullest commitment to offering a service which is welcoming to all backgrounds in a supportive and non-discriminatory manner.
I provide counselling online, via video call, (or telephone if you prefer) offering a sensitive and confidential counselling service for individuals (18+ and adult).
Face to face counselling is currently postponed due to Covid and government restrictions.
I offer short, medium or longer term counselling, and sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
I am available evenings from 6pm - 9pm.
The many years of training I have taken has influenced the way I work and has helped to bring a richness to what I can offer you.
I work in a very fluid way, getting to know you and tailoring the counselling to your needs. I am trained Integratively and work in a Person Centred way, helping you to link to your past (Psychodynamic if you choose). I can also show you techniques to support yourself in the present. I will work with you to become holistically self aware on many levels, so as to aid your ability to reach your full potential.
There is an option for you to work with me, using other creative materials and modes thus helping you to make sense of things in different ways, (you do not need to be an artist or feel you have to meet certain levels, just express yourself as you need). I will help you to become aware of how your body responds to your moods and how you feel as a whole person, working with you without judgement and aiding you in not judging yourself, as we are all human.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation, so that we can both become familiar with each other and ask a few questions to decide if we would like to meet me for the first assessment session.
We will then agree day/time for a 50 minute video call or continue on the phone, if you desire. This session is in part, about both of us deciding if we can work together. It is important that we both feel at ease and that working online/over the phone is appropriate for you, and the things you want to attend counselling for.
This session is also a chance for you to ask me any questions you may have and for me to ask you some specific questions that will help me to determine your suitability for counselling at this time, or whether you may need a different type of help from another source.
