About me and my therapy practice
I offer a creative, person centred/integrative approach to Supervision. I have over 9 years experience of supervising trainee and qualified counsellors and therapists in private practice, voluntary sector organisations, higher education and NHS primary care services.
I collaborate with my supervisees to develop a trusting, safe and creative supervisory relationship, in which client work and related personal issues can be explored openly and supportively.
I have a broad range of therapeutic experience, having worked with clients with the usual range of issues. My specialist fields are working with survivors of sexual abuse and violence, bereavement and loss and relationship issues, and I also have a background working in Higher Education mental health provision.
I see supervisees as colleagues in need of a second pair of eyes and ears, and I very much enjoy sharing ideas and best practice, and also sharing the joys and challenges of working in the different settings therapists and counsellors find themselves in today.
My therapy training was primarily Person Centred, and my supervision training was based on this approach, and included creative and psycho-dramatic techniques. I have an interest in techniques and ideas from a range of different therapeutic approaches, and would describe my current approach as Person-Centred, Creative and Integrated.
