About me and my therapy practice

Chair of BACP Coaching Division, MA (Psych), PG Cert (Coaching)

An experienced Psychotherapist (MA) and Executive Coach (Senior Practitioner), my integrated therapeutic-coaching approach helps clients thrive by combining the solutions-focussed energy of coaching with the healing power of psychotherapy.

With a strong business background of leadership experience, my collaborative and creative way of working with clients is underpinned by psychological principles of enhancing self-awareness and self-acceptance, enabling authentic and sustainable change to be achieved. With a warm, energetic and compassionate way of being, I draw on a wide coaching and therapy toolkit along with a systemic understanding of organisational and relationship challenges, to tailor my approach to the unique challenges and goals of each client.

The solutions-focussed ‘3 Cs’ coaching strategy works holistically to support clients to create clarity, confidence and change. My background and skillset enables me to provide the structure and framework necessary to facilitate forward momentum, whilst also working empathically at emotional depth when valuable for client wellbeing and alleviating distress.

My psychotherapeutically-informed approach helps clients understand their cognitive and emotional responses in the here-and-now, clarify their strengths, and identify previously unconscious unhelpful narratives and self-limiting beliefs. Clients are supported to develop helpful techniques and strategies to regulate emotional responses, support the achievement of goals, and create sustainable change.

While many of my clients are professional executives, my approach can be successfully applied to any emotional, academic, personal or business challenge, regardless of age, gender, or professional status. My approach works well for any individual who enjoys working creatively, is psychologically curious and open to challenge, and motivated to achieve the changes that will enable them to thrive.

Practice description

My approach integrates humanistic, psychodynamic, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) ways of working to help me most effectively understand and empathise with your unique background and life experiences. I'm experienced in drawing on a range of techniques to help people overcome difficulties including anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, perfectionism, and addictive behaviours, as well as common workplace and relationship challenges. My specialised skillset enables me to develop a solution-focussed therapeutic-coaching plan for each client that is specifically tailored to your individual objectives and optimal timeline.

We will work creatively and collaboratively together within a relationship built on trust, warmth, and respect, to carefully explore your feelings, emotions and behaviour impact your ability to make decisions and create the change you want to achieve. The process is interactive and dynamic, and while we'll delve deeply into the challenges you're facing, there will be moments of levity and fun too.

Sometimes we'll just talk and explore, but we'll often create a written record of our session for you to reflect on, in the form of notes, a diagram, or plan of action. Sessions usually take place fortnightly or monthly, and we may agree some work to be undertaken between sessions, such as practising a new skill (e.g. regulating the nervous system) or taking a next step towards achieving an objective. We will continually review our work together and flexibly adapt as your autonomy grows, and your progress and confidence evolves.

Specialist areas include:

• Leadership development; career evolution and transition

• Anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviours, trauma, ADHD, neurodiversity, addiction, perfectionism

• Imposter syndrome: enhancing self-belief and sense of identity

• Creating optimal work-life balance

• Emotional dysregulation, relationships difficulties, anger management

• Strength clarification; resilience enhancement; self-limiting belief removal

My first session

We will have a free of charge Zoom or phone call first (your preference). Research shows that the relationship you build with your therapist or coach is linked to successful outcomes, so it's important to me that you feel comfortable and confident that things feel right for you.

My solution-focussed approach means I will spend time listening to what you want to achieve, and we'll explore how working with me may help you move forwards towards greater fulfilment and wellbeing.

We'll identify your goals and agree the optimal way to work together, including the number of sessions we may like to plan for, and how regularly we will meet.

Sessions can be held on Zoom, telephone, and face to face, dependent on your location and preferences.  My private practice is located in Twickenham in a garden room with free parking available outside the property.
