Practice description

Research shows the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the biggest predictor of a good outcome for therapy. Therefore please call me allow us to have a brief discussion about your needs, and ways forward to resolve those needs.

Over 13 years of practicing I have sought to integrate my lifelong interest in health, well being and healing; my personal experience along with phases of philosophy, psychology and clinical theory. I’m constantly developing my interest in therapy and have written around clinical themes for professional journals. I bring my experience from working as a parent, business women and influences from Buddhism. I’m an MSc qualified Life Coach & Psychotherapist accredited counsellor (registered with BACP) and supervisor Accredited EMDR Therapist with much diverse experience. I’ve worked privately, within the Charity Sector, with staff in a University setting (where I also taught Mindfulness) and as a therapist for serving Police Force Personnel in London Transport and Thames Valley.

All of these influences and experiences give me confidence in my work which is clinically evaluated in supervision. My clients also express a high degree of satisfaction with my work. Listen to some testimonial on website, go to... https://www.thechoicetochange.co.uk/

My core modality is Person Centered & Solution Focused, using predominately EMDR in current 5 years; I feel I bring a creative, holistic approach which supports working at depth with the therapeutic relationship and embodied process and includes revealing the influence of past and present situations on current difficulties. I’m sensitive to cultural differences and individual preferences and aim to help clients in developing enough support and awareness to grow into the choices and changes which, outside of therapy, have proved obscure.

My first session

I don’t come with a set of anticipations about you and appreciate that coming to therapy can be unnerving and take time to settle into. After an initial shared assessment session where you can get a flavour of my style and the sort of interventions I make, we can agree whether or not to work with each other and then how to go ahead.

I offer long and short-term therapy and personal development work to individuals. I also offer clinical supervision from a Humanistic perspective to students of local universities and to qualified professionals such as managers, supervisors (work related for well-being OR therapy supervision). I offer Consultancy and CPD Trauma OR Mental Health Workshops for Organisations and Teams and welcome contact with regard to this.

Here's a Client Testimonial having received ZOOM-ONLINE therapy -(client Haley) https://youtu.be/xEtLeXNifwk

I am now very experienced in Trauma and Relational Psychotherapy, I am so passionate in another's hidden potential,  removing  limiting past memories and behaviours.

My proposition should you feel you are ready is to enter into therapy it's an encompassing at ease, impartial, compassionate, direct, sensitive and supportive environment; I am an open, wholehearted and sincere individual in which I accept that I am no more or no others less than each other. My clients and I work together and a ‘working piece of art’. I find this approach creates the best outcome for therapy – agreeing to trust, to naturally build, ensuring YOU can come knowing there’s nothing we can’t explore about self, even what might be undiscovered or unknown or difficult to name or about life; it will be without judgement and sense of courage, with me guiding YOU through what is a very personal journey.

So yes, Counselling/Psychotherapy can be hard at times however it is also the biggest investment, respectful and liberating moment you will own personally.

Practice description

I remember when I first ever encountered psychotherapy, it was an unsettling feeling, scared that I might break down and embarrass myself; that's being totally honest! I felt vulnerable, with very little idea of what to expect. So... know you are not alone, and have some idea about how you are feeling right now.

I call myself a people's person, getting to know how and what your are thinking is essential, for you to feel 'GOT'; and for therapy to work,  we 2 need to connect. The rest builds or re'builds as we do our session's.

Nothing will change if you fail to move towards change.  It's your Choice or not?

My first session

In My Practice

All my clients receive the same care and commitment which has YOU assess after an initial discussion either by phone or face to face as to proceed. Our first session we get to ask each other questions; before we both decide if whether if feels right to carry on!

This initial meeting is an exploratory session which gives you the opportunity to tell me about your difficulties, for me to explain how I can help and after which you can decide if you think if psychotherapy/trauma therapy is helpful for you.

My first session

Your first session will leave feeling perhaps: exhausted, relieved, free, confused, clearer headed, assertive, emotional and more confident, considering as to whether its the appropriate step for you in this moment of life. Listen to your intuition...

I remember coming back and forth, running away from what was difficulty to address in life, and eventually "it came and bit me in the bum". Life threw me choices, until 1 day when I wasn't even expecting it, I embraced support and found myself in the hands of a suitable, caring integrative therapist; whom provided insights of my courage and skills to find my way into what I have created today! When it's your time, I Believe It Happens...   Life... Therapy
