There is some flexibility for people who might be working irregular hours or shift work. I work with people offering counselling or psychotherapy on a weekly basis.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a senior accredited counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. (BACP)

I am also an Integrative Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. (UKCP).

I have over 25 years' experience working as a therapist within diverse communities.

I began professionally working as a counsellor in 1994.  My first training was as a person-centred counsellor. My second training has been as a relational integrative psychotherapist. You can expect a skilled helping relationship in which I will listen carefully to you and seek to understand your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Through this kind of empathic relationship, I can act as a mirror, bringing fresh understanding, enabling you to change difficult patterns if experience. I have gained extensive experience working with people from diverse communities with a wide range of issues.

My first session

I wish to develop a relationship where talking about what most concerns you is possible. The initial session is fifty minutes long and is an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable enough to engage in counselling or psychotherapy.

It is understandable that you may feel uncomfortable or nervous if this is the first time you have met with a therapist, and it is fine to talk in your own time about the concerns that have brought you to here.

You can expect me to listen carefully to what you have to say and occasionally confirm with you my understanding of your problems.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions, including what you can expect from our work and how specifically I will work with you.

Should you decide to continue working together, an appointment can be made and the boundaries and agreements of the work discussed with you.

There may be a time in your life where you feel that support and understanding from another person could be beneficial to you. You can expect a high-level of empathic understanding, an environment where you won't be judged and an honest response from me, regarding any questions or concerns you may bring
