About me and my therapy practice

I work with young people experiencing anxiety and their families. I support you and your child/children to recognise and navigate the process of anxiety, uncover and promote strengths that build courage and resilience and help you take back control from anxiety so your child and your family can thrive.

Change happens most powerfully when parents are included in the therapeutic process. A range of sessions, some with you, some with your child and some with you together allow us to find the most effective strategies to support your family.

Practice description

My 20+ year career has been focussed on supporting young people facing social emotional and mental health challenges, particularly in school settings. As a school-based mental health counsellor I have developed programmes and provided counselling for pupils experiencing anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation and school refusal. As a teacher I have worked with teenagers in prisons, alternative provisions and special schools and have been the head teacher of specialist schools for pupils with social, emotional and mental health challenges.

I have worked with children and teenagers of all ages, from diverse backgrounds, cultures and identities with a variety of neurodevelopmental differences and mental health challenges.

I hold a Masters degree in Psychotherapy and am trained in Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
