About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps this is a time in your life when circumstances seem very difficult for you to manage. Is there something you haven’t been able to think through which is stopping you from progressing? Something which feels distressing and yet seemingly even harder to improve or resolve.

Maybe this struggle feels too personal and so you do not want to turn to friends or family. You have chosen instead to find a counsellor and I hope this will help you to find the means to reduce your distress and decide on your plans for the future where you feel more settled and more in control of your own destiny.

I am an experienced BACP registered Person-Centred counsellor. I offer a safe and confidential space where I would listen to you carefully and help you explore what it is you are concerned about, in a non-judgemental way. This is to enable you to look at your situation from a different perspective. You may come with goals in mind, or these may form as we go along. Together we can consider what possibilities you have, in your circumstances, to foster change. I work with individuals aged 18 years and older.

Practice description

My practice is entirely online. I work with zoom and on the telephone.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2013 and am also trained to use Person-Centred art therapy skills. Whenever it seems hard to put something into words, I might offer this as an alternative way of working, if you want to.

My counselling experience has been to work with those living with

Loss due to relationship breakdown, loss of health, redundancy, losing a home, and loss of agency – losing your freedom to choose in some way.

The long-term effects of sexual abuse

The long-term effects of domestic abuse

A cancer diagnosis either for yourself or a family member

I have also worked with members of the LGBT+ community.

My first session

During my first session, which lasts 50 minutes, I will ask for some personal details and listen while you outline what has brought you to me.  You probably know what you are looking for as regards a therapist and will need to ask me questions too. It is a time for you to weigh up whether to embark upon therapy with me.  My first session therefore is free.
