About me and my therapy practice

I want to know who the client is, this I believe is the first step toward tailored therapy. 

I want to challenge narratives to see if they stand up. 

I believe positive change is possible if the client feels seen and understood. 

I believe in this work and the idea that we don't have to accept our lot in life. The struggle is inevitable and should be accepted as part of individual growth. It isn't easy but it's necessary and can be life-affirming. 

I believe people are more capable dealing with struggle than they often realise and I consider my role in this personal growth an absolute privalige.

Practice description

My private clients are welcomed at my home, which is quiet, secluded, and comfortable. 

My first session

I try to make the client feel at ease. I want to know who they are and how they see the world and their place in it. 

I want to show the client who I am as a counselor and that they can trust me and the process of counseling.  

I am honest and congruent and genuinely want to see and accept the client as they are. 

I am conscious that clients can feel overwhelmed in the 1st session and want to remind the client of their own strength and courage in seeking help and support.
