About me and my therapy practice
I know it takes a lot of courage to take that first step and contact a counsellor. Our lives can sometimes seem difficult. You may feel sad, anxious or simply confused and overwhelmed. Counselling can give you the opportunity to work through the challenges you face.
Whether you are looking for help with anxiety, depression, work issues, self confidence or just feeling ‘stuck’, counselling may help. Some of the benefits include:
- Attaining a better understanding of yourself and your goals
- Finding resolution to the issues or concerns that led you to seek counselling
- Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
- Changing old behaviour or relationship patterns
- Building confidence and self esteem
- Finding your voice
I am calm, empathic, accepting and non-judgemental. I can offer you a safe space where you can be yourself. Through counselling, I can help you to understand and work through your issues at your own pace. During this process of self-discovery, I will support you in making positive changes in your life.
I firmly believe that each person is unique and there isn't a 'one approach fits all' in counselling. I will work with you, as an individual. The relationship between client and counsellor is key to therapeutic change. It is difficult to get a sense of a person through a short profile like this so I speak with all new clients on the phone prior to the first appointment. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and to get a sense of how we would work together.
