About me and my therapy practice
You may be feeling sad, struggling with anxiety or depression or experiencing difficulties in your relationships. Whatever brings you to therapy it’s a positive step in making changes to your life.
My approach is to provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore your difficulties without judgment. I am warm, compassionate and empathic and will take time to understand what is troubling you. Together we will think about you and your situation, helping you further develop your self-awareness and understanding about how you interact with others and the world around you. You may decide to make changes to your life; my role will be supportive rather than telling you what to do.
My first session
At the beginning of our first session I'll take some personal details from you as well as going through my statement of understanding and privacy document (I can send this in advance of our session if you'd prefer).
During this first meeting I will listen carefully to what is troubling you and also ask you some questions. This is to gain a clear picture of your difficulties and help me understand what you are looking for from therapy. At the end of this first session we'll discuss whether you'd like to commit to ongoing sessions and what the focus of our work may be.
