* Covid-19 *
Due to the current situation we are making changes in the way that we offer our counselling and psychotherapy support.
We are working to minimise the impact of a significant Corona-virus COVID-19 outbreak at “Find a voice…” Counselling & Psychotherapy and would like to keep all our clients informed of the steps we need to take to avoid coming into contact with the virus.
This will help us keep “Find a voice…” open for our clients who depend on our counselling services and may need our continued support and provide continued availability for clients seeking our therapeutic services.
With this in mind, I have taken the difficult decision to temporarily cease all face to face appointments at " Find a voice..." Counselling & Psychotherapy.
In order to maintain support for all our clients, we are offering on-line video link and telephone sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to “Find a voice…”
I am a qualified BACP registered Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist.
My therapy ranges from solution focused through to a more client led focused therapy. Worksheets and homework such as journal writing can often work well with clients and some of my clients prefer to work with connecting mind, body, spirit and soul.
However, often clients need an empathic listener without prejudice or judgement where they can feel safe to talk and 'get things off their chest'.
I have worked within domestic abuse and trauma recovery support since 2003 and understand how the effects of trauma and abuse can feel permanent and dis-empowering.
I offer a safe and ethical trauma informed way of working therapeutically through your experiences, helping you to discover an understanding of your own inner strengths and "Find a voice..."
Practice descriptionONLINE /TELEPHONE/FACE2FACE
We are all diverse human beings and completely individual in our needs and our preferences and my understanding of this inspired me to train in integrative counselling & psychotherapy and provide sessions led by the individual needs of my clients.
Whether you are returning to therapy or coming for the first time. I welcome you with understanding and acceptance in a safe and confidential space. Where I offer to walk with you at your own pace on your journey through mental health well-being, abuse and trauma recovery.
Your session is your confidential therapeutic space to think, feel, share and validate your true sense of self. Reconnect and " Find a voice..." for your inner most feelings.
My first session
Talking about our feelings and emotions can be hard and taking the first steps in to therapy is possibly the hardest part of the journey.
A good client counsellor alliance is key to effective therapy, so it is helpful to building a therapeutic relationship when you are given time to ask any questions you may have and given time to adjust to your new therapy environment with your counsellor.
If we are working online or via the telephone, it is also a great time to 'iron out' any technical difficulties so your sessions run as smoothly as possible.
So with this in mind, I offer a free initial 30 minute session to discuss how you feel about working with me therapeutically, and how you would like to move forward.
Clients I work with
