Hi, I'm Laura, a BACP registered therapist with experience helping people to find meaningful change through exploring their feelings, thoughts, relationships, and experiences.

I am a warm, relational, encouraging therapist with an open-hearted and creative approach to my practice. I appreciate the uniqueness of each person (and their experiences), and I welcome you, whatever journey you have taken to get here.

I understand it can take great courage to reach out, and I offer Person-Centred Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy to help you navigate what's coming up in your life.

Person-Centred Therapy

In Person-Centred Therapy sessions, I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and relationships—with yourself and others.

You’ll set the pace of our sessions, and we’ll explore what’s coming up for you in the here and now (like any thoughts, imagery, metaphors, dreams, or movement you notice), as well as your past experiences.

Person-centred therapy is a creative process, and the experience differs for everyone. It can be a relief to share long-buried feelings or helpful to have a space to talk that is free of judgement.

Together, we will connect with the resources you already hold within—helping you nurture your self-worth, manage any stress and anxiety you're experiencing, navigate past challenges, and build deeper connections.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

IFS Therapy is an expansive and transformative approach that invites you to explore the many layers of your inner world; the parts you have within.

In our sessions, I will work alongside you to gently uncover and understand your parts, creating space for you to connect your 'core calm self' and for new understandings about your present and past experiences to emerge.

In this way of working, I hold a deep respect for your inner wisdom. Exploring your inner world and expanding your sense of self allows you to uncover a more authentic, empowered version of who you already are and to touch upon clarity and peace.

Many people find that IFS sessions really make sense once they’ve experienced the process. If you’d like to know more, I’d be happy to talk you through what it's like to experience an IFS session.

My approach

I’m mindful that the world around us shapes our experiences, and I create space for you to explore the different intersections of your identity. My approach is trauma-informed, queer and trans-affirmative, and grounded in kindness, compassion, and respect for all.

I also take a holistic approach. Considering both the body and the mind can be helpful for those whose bodies are a place of anxiety (for those experiencing change, physical illness, or low self-confidence, to name but a few).

Ideas from neuroscience, philosophy, mindfulness, neurolinguistics, and Jungian concepts (like how we experience our dreams) also weave into my practice. I am deeply fascinated by archetypes, mythology, folklore, and our connections to land and place.

My work as both a therapist and a client has shown me the magic and power of paying attention to the present moment and how understanding who you are—and how you relate to the world—empowers you to make choices that lead to a more meaningful, connected, and fulfilling life.

Training, qualifications & experience

My path to becoming a therapist started in Bristol, where I studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and gained an understanding of the application of psychological science. I have since completed a Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Keele University, focusing on theory and therapeutic skills, and I graduated with distinction.

As a member of the BACP, I am committed to best practice. I participate in regular supervision, take part in continued training, and work within the BACP's ethical framework. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and have practice insurance.

Drawing from more than 2500 hours of client work, I have experience supporting people navigating anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, burnout, loneliness, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, chronic illness, LGBTQ+ experiences, non-monogamy, and spirituality.

My first session

I understand how important it is to feel at ease with your therapist and to be able to build a trusting relationship. For this reason, I offer a free 30-minute initial call where we can connect, talk about what you're looking for, and see whether working together would be a good fit for you.
