I usually offer sessions Tuesdays to Thursdays, daytime and early evening (1730, ish).
I would be pleased to speak with you to discuss if I might be the right therapist for you, and hopefully to find a mutually suitable time for sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), integrated with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other approaches.
You may be facing a difficult situation or relationship, struggling with a recognised condition such as anxiety or depression, OCD or low self-esteem, facing particular fears and phobias, trauma, or other issues, or you may be generally unhappy and want to get more out of your life. Whatever the issue, get in touch to find out how I can help.
Practice description
I work in a client-focused way so that you can address whatever issues you are facing. The first session will include working out what you want to be different as a result of the therapy.
CBT has been shown to help with most psychological problems, with “third-wave” cognitive therapies, such as ACT, enhancing its effectiveness.
Using the CBT cognitive framework, we will explore troubling thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in particular situations. Learning how to adapt these internal experiences and to relate to them differently is an important part of the therapy. Understanding underlying drivers of unhelpful patterns, and how these have developed, can accelerate the process of change. Through working together, you will be able to manage challenging situations more easily. And with new skills and understanding, you will be better equipped to handle future challenges.

My first session
I will send you more information, including the counselling agreement, before the first session. In our first session, we will discuss what you would like to achieve from the therapy and how we will work together. Change can happen even in the first session, and clients often report feeling lighter and more hopeful.
