About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor and I provide non-judgemental and confidential counselling support from a private practice in University Street, Belfast.
I aim to work with you to establish a trusting, therapeutic relationship so that you will feel supported to tell your story, explore difficult feelings, reflect on the choices you’ve made and find ways to make things better in your life.
Engaging in a period of counselling can help you better understand who you are and what you want from your life. It can also enable you to become more confident and assertive, develop better relationships, address past trauma, set realistic goals, gain a greater sense of direction and encourage a more fulfilled life.
I practice as an integrative therapist and I draw on person-centred, cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic and sensorimotor helping strategies. I also have an interest in working to challenge unhelpful and damaging societal narratives that may have negatively impacted on individual wellbeing.
I have more than thirty years' experience working with a diverse range of people and groups within the voluntary and community sector including over ten years as a counselling supervisor with Childline/NSPCC, as a counsellor in a school and with local counselling agencies.
