About me and my therapy practice
As we navigate our way through the Covid-19 pandemic and we experience more of the complex psychological and economic challenges it presents, you may feel that you need extra support with your emotional wellbeing. I can offer you a confidential space to work with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationships, self-esteem, work-related issues, bereavement, anger management and trauma.
I offer integrative counselling that focusses on the therapeutic relationship, in order to facilitate change. I can also provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which will help you to become your own therapist, by learning how to recognise and change your own automatic thoughts and behaviours.
I am a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor and CBT practitioner, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP). I have experience of short and long-term counselling across a wide range of issues, ages and backgrounds. Aside from my private practice, I am a counsellor for the West London Centre for Counselling. This is an NHS funded IAPT counselling service.
My background is in higher education. In my role as an academic, I was around many people who were in a constant state of stress, struggling with self-doubt, sacrificing their personal lives, vulnerable to constant feedback and afraid to switch off. Consequently I trained as a therapeutic counsellor, so I could help people improve their mental health through CBT and/or counselling.
My first session
In our first session together we can talk about your specific issues, as well as your hopes and goals for therapy. I can answer any questions you might have about me or my practice, and we can work out how we might work together. In the first instance, you may want to commit to a limited number of sessions, or you may want a more open-ended approach. We can discuss this in our first session.
