About me and my therapy practice
As I counsellor I love creating a space where people feel free to talk about any issues they are experiencing without worrying about being judged.
Every human is uniquely different and this is why I incorporate various counselling approaches and techniques, responding to the needs and personal circumstances of each individual.
I enjoy using creative counselling methods like working with objects and images and I also offer traditional talking therapy. I am particularly interested helping people who have issues relating to neurodiversity.
Before becoming a counsellor I experienced many different walks of life including living and working abroad, being a cleaner, working in a fast food restaurant, working in the field of human rights and international development and I believe all these experiences have helped make me the counsellor I am today.
Practice description
I offer three options for therapy; face to face in my beautiful therapy rooms, walk and talk therapy and online therapy. A walk and talk session is held outside while walking and is an opportunity to add movement into the session as a way of processing emotion. These sessions take place on suitably timed routes in large local parks. The online therapy sessions offer accessibility for all regardless of location. I use Google Meet or Skype.
My first session
In our first session we will take time to explore what you are looking for from counselling and identify what the aims of therapy will be. I will explain how confidentiality in the counselling room works and outline what you can expect from me and in turn what I would expect from you as part of our therapeutic relationship. My aim would be that you would leave the first session with a clear understanding of how we are going to work together and feeling that you have been listened to and understood.
