About me and my therapy practice
Upon qualifying as a counsellor I decided to establish my own counselling practice to realise my dream of working in my own business to support others in need of assistance and understanding with both their general mental wellbeing and specific mental health issues.
Lighthouse holds a special significance for me as I have been fascinated by them since I was a child and then as I got older the comfort and reassurance of a light shining out into the dark seas guiding those that needed it to shore really resonated with me.
It is a message I feel strongly about because it says very clearly for potential clients who would like to work with me that my role is not to supply the answers that they seek but to sit with them and support them in finding their own answers.
In these uncertain times it is normal sometimes to feel as though everything is a struggle or too much to deal with but whatever you are going through, I will work with you to make sense of things again and offer support and strategies to increase your coping skills and resilience going forward.
Practice description
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which allows me to work within the concepts and guidelines of the BACP Ethical Framework and I am committed to ethically and professionally at all times.
My primary aim as a humanistic integrative counsellor is to provide my clients with a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space to shine a light and explore thoughts and feelings in order to enable a deeper understanding of themselves.
My humanistic integrative approach allows me to draw upon a number of counselling modalities including Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, CBT, and Mindfulness.
I believe you hold your own answers, and I can support you in finding them and increasing your self-awareness. My lighthouse is ready to guide you through whatever challenges, problems or thoughts and feelings you are dealing with, safe in the knowledge that your safety, confidentiality, and autonomy are primary concerns in the work we will do together.
