About me and my therapy practice
I offer a peaceful space and skills for us to explore the issues or symptoms that have led you to seek help. Psychosynthesis provides a bigger picture, and helps you move towards healing. Like on a journey, I will guide and follow you through dark and difficult terrain, as well as to peaceful and inspiring landscapes. You will have an opportunity to slow down and consider thought patterns, body sensations, feelings and your deeper sense of purpose and belonging. To discover and recollect the many different parts of yourself, and like a conductor get them to play more in harmony. Becoming more aware of what is holding you back from the past, and what direction you really want your life to take. It enables you to live and make choices from the heart, with both pragmatism and vision.
The sessions are mostly weekly talking therapy, and also use imagination and the body as resources, through guided visualisations, mindfulness, body awareness and drawing. Psychosynthesis belongs to the Transpersonal/Humanistic school, and when called for includes other therapy modalities. Some of the issues I have worked with are: anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, living with disability, living with terminal illness, impact of childhood trauma, suicidal thoughts, concerns around addiction, struggles to connect to body or feelings, sexual identity and expression, existential and spiritual dilemmas, struggling to realise goals and ideals, or looking for purpose meaning and direction.
I am a Psychosynthesis Counsellor (Diploma 2013) and have continued to train in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy. My background of over 15 years experience as a Palliative Care Staff Nurse has also helped me to listen and support with warmth, an open heart, calmness, humour and pragmatism. Please feel welcome to contact me via e-mail with any enquires and to arrange first assessment.
