About me and my therapy practice
I am a humanistic integrative counsellor offering individual open-ended personal therapy. I work in private practice from a number of locations in Bristol. I have extensive experience of working with a wide range of clients specialising in post 16 adolescents and adults. As an integrative therapist I utilise a variety of approaches within a humanistic framework, focusing on Person-Centred Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Existential Therapy, Collaboratively we will work with these therapeutic processes to create a bespoke therapy to suit your individual needs. I believe therapy to be a two-way process of relationship, and throughout our work together my aim is to support you side by side through this experiential process.
My private practice is located in central Bristol. In addition to my private work I operate the Student Counselling Service in a large HE and FE college provision in South Gloucestershire. I offer face to face, individual open ended counselling. As a therapist I am deeply passionate about what I do. I believe feeling listened to and accepted are hugely powerful factors when it comes to supporting emotional well being. By providing a welcoming, safe, non-judgemental and confidential space you can begin to explore and obtain insights into the feelings, issues and patterns of behaviour which may be causing you difficulties in your life. Throughout our work together I hope to offer a reflective opportunity to increase your sense of self, gain better understanding of where you have been, where you are now and where you wish to go, so you can continue to move forward and live your life with fulfilment. Through my collaborative therapeutic work, I have provided positive and lasting outcomes for a diverse spectrum of clients whose issues have included:
Childhood related issues, Trauma, PTSD, Attachment issues, Abuse, Anger, Anxiety, Dissociative disorders, Bereavement, Grief, Loss, Identity, Self-esteem, Self-confidence, Depression, Suicide, Relationships, Sexuality, Gender identity, Bullying, Separation, Loss of meaning, Vulnerability, Life transitions.
My first session
I would encourage you to attend an initial session where we can meet and introduce ourselves. This will give us both an opportunity to gain understanding of any of the issues which have brought you to seek counselling and to establish how we might work together and to formulate our therapeutic contract.
I offer this initial assessment session at a reduced cost of £20:00.
In response to the impact of ( Corona virus Covid 19 ) I am mindful of social distancing therefore all my counselling sessions are currently conducted online via zoom . I have restructured the session costs to reflect these changes. I currently have a number of online session options available. In addition to this I am committed to increasing accessibility through offering low cost sessions for NHS staff, front-line workers, students and those with reduced means. Please contact me to discuss these options further.
