About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor I'm trained in a variety of approaches and will offer a way that feels right & supportive for you. My general outlook is person centred, humanistic & holistic.
Having worked with the Womens Centre in Cornwall I have particular experience with trauma related issues.

An empowerment model of support
The difficult circumstances we experience often deprive us of our sense of agency & self worth. Working with empowerment can redefine our sense of self & renew our capacity for living fully.
Body Centred therapy ~ Trauma sensitive
This can be deeply effective in exploring & releasing the adverse effects of trauma. I have found this to be invaluable in supporting survivors of domestic violence.
Relaxation & Mindfulness techniques
These can help alleviate the symptoms of stress, anxiety & depression and also allow us to understand ourselves with greater clarity.
If you find it hard to put what you’re thinking & feeling into words or prefer to explore & reflect creatively, we can also use drawing, painting, sand-tray, modelling, story cards and being outdoors.
You may feel you need short term counselling or longer term support, you may feel you have a particular issue or are struggling with a general sense of being stuck or anxiety. You may feel you can't put what you need into words & are not quite sure what kind of support you're looking for.
We start with where you are now, looking to gain a deeper understanding of your situation. This deepening insight brings with it an increased sense of freedom & choice. Effective therapy enables us to live life in a more informed and conscious way, this may involve taking action, shifting perspective, or both.
My first session
I offer a first session of 30 minutes free (online or phone) to reassure yourself that you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. Please contact me by text or email & I will arrange to call you at a convenient time.
