About me and my therapy practice

I would like you to know that your life matters to me and I am pleased that you have decided to take the step to improve your health and deepen the understanding you have about yourself.

I also appreciate that you are considering working with me so let me tell you a little bit more about myself and my practice.

I am a Psychotherapist and Behaviour Change Expert who specialises in Addiction and Relationships.

For over 20 years, I have supported people of all ages, couples, families and groups to help them uncover their truth, to take ownership of the present and connect to their future self.

I hold a Masters in Addiction Psychology and Counselling, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education, a Level 4 Certificate in Counselling Children and an Advanced Diploma in Couple and Relationship Therapy.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), an Advanced Practitioner and Accredited Member of the Addiction Professionals (formerly FDAP), a Certified Motivational Interviewing coach and a Level 2 iheart Facilitator.

Practice description

I have experience of working in both public and private rehabilitation sectors such as the Priory and the NHS and also, within the SEND communities too.

I am extremely passionate about child welfare as I firmly believe that if we don't have broken children, we are less likely to have broken adults. As a result, I strive to implement, research and develop early intervention strategies and techniques for young people and parents where my research includes a first of its kind publication combining metacognitions and parenting styles as predictors of cannabis use.

More recently, I have produced a piece on exercise addiction in collaboration with Hertfordshire University.

I also host mental health workshops for MIND, speak publicly and am currently supporting the East London NHS Foundation Trust and BEAT develop PSHE lessons for schools around healthy eating.

My first session

My approach to therapy is inclusive, warm and person centred yet solution-focused and curious. I uphold that every person has the innate ability to thrive and by focusing on the trinity of thoughts, feelings and behaviours whilst embracing the need for faith, hope and tolerance from the first session, a safe space is created for individuals to establish their aspirations, their purpose and their passions to identify where their issues lay to notice how they can make healthier choices that are right for them.

In concluding work with me, clients report to having increased levels of confidence and a higher degree of autonomy which lead to them being more resilient and having a better sense of identity, meaning and belonging.
