About me and my therapy practiceI offer individual counselling in comfortable therapy rooms just outside Chester city centre. During the Covid-19 outbreak I will be offering telephone or video sessions (using Zoom) instead of face to face therapy. I provide the opportunity for people to be heard in a welcoming, non-judgemental, safe, confidential environment, and have experience of working with a wide range of clients. For many of us, life can feel difficult or overwhelming at times and taking the step to contact a counsellor can feel daunting - it takes courage to ask for help. Counselling can offer the space to reflect and explore issues that are troubling you, in a calm environment, with a trained professional. Talking with a counsellor who is independent of your situation can help to clarify and make sense of your thoughts and feelings and make choices about how you would like to move forward. I offer an initial session for £20. This is an opportunity for us to explore what you would like from counselling, what I offer, and to decide whether we would like to work together.
I am a fully qualified counsellor, accredited by the BACP and hold a Masters degree in Clinical Counselling (Distinction) from the University of Chester.
I hold a Certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling from the Macclesfield Counselling and Training Centre.
I am registered with EAP providers including AXA and Aviva.
Introductory appointments are £20 for a 50 minute session.
Subsequent appointments are £40 per 50 minute session
During the pandemic I am able to be more flexible and can offer shorter sessions at a reduced fee - please contact me to discuss.
I am currently working with individual adults only.
My first session
I offer an initial 50 minute appointment at £20. This session provides the opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you would like from it. During this session we will also discuss the counselling process and talk about confidentiality and other practical matters. You will have the opportunity to ask questions or discuss any concerns you may have. In counselling, the relationship between counsellor and client is very important and this first meeting enables us to see whether we would like to work together. If I feel that another type of help would be more appropriate for you we will explore this.
