About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, caring and compassionate therapeutic environment where you will feel safe and not judged. Relationships are fundamental to human existence and can be the root cause of problems, past and present.  In a confidential setting, I will listen, support and guide you in understanding your experiences and developing a more coherent sense of self.  BACP Accredited, I am an experienced integrative counsellor, drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred theories as well as other theories, depending on what is right for you at the time.  I work with private clients and am also a supervisor to counsellors and psychotherapists in my private practice for mental health charities, schools and the helping professions on an individual and group basis. Reduced rates are offered for trainees in counselling and supervision and I am BUPA recognised for counselling.

Practice description

My practice is based in my home in a quiet setting.

My first session

It takes much courage to come to counselling and it is the first step towards understanding and helping yourself.  The first session together is an opportunity for us to get to know each other.  It also takes the form of an informal assessment to cover the necessary administrative information as well as establishing what your expectations are from the counselling process.

Hopefully our therapeutic relationship will begin to develop through the session and we will go through a working agreement which outlines confidentiality, the number of sessions, fees etc.

The session is 50 minutes, the therapeutic hour.  It is important to go at your pace.  If there is time, there will be an opportunity for us to focus on any issues that can be addressed with immediate tools to take away.

About me and my therapy practice

I have a Level 6 Diploma in Supervision (distinction) and am a supervisor to counsellors and psychotherapists in my private practice for mental health charities, schools and the helping professions on an individual and group basis. In a confidential setting, I offer a warm, caring, nurturing, and compassionate therapeutic environment where counsellors and psychotherapists can present their clients, feeling safe and not judged. Relationships are fundamental to human existence and can be the root cause of problems, past and present.  I will listen, support and guide my supervisees in understanding their client experiences and helping them develop a more coherent sense of self.  BACP Accredited, I am an experienced integrative counsellor with a private practice.  I draw on psychodynamic and person-centred theories as well as other theories, depending on what is right for the supervisee and their clients at the time. Reduced rates are offered for trainees in counselling and supervision and I am BUPA recognised for counselling.
