About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life becomes complicated and it can all feel a bit too much. At times, we may face a crisis in our lives which we are unable to overcome on our own. Maybe you just feel a bit stuck at the moment and do not have anyone you can open up to about how you feel. If you feel like this, it can really help to have someone to talk to. Counselling will offer you a confidential space where you can be open and honest about the issues you are experiencing, and the impact they are having on your life.
If you are not sure how you feel, that is fine too. Sometimes it can take time to explore and understand what is going on and why it is affecting you so much.
Embarking on counselling may feel daunting but, once you take the first step, it can set you on the road to making positive changes in your life. Sharing your thoughts and feelings in a safe space can be empowering and enlightening.
I am trained to use a person-centred approach, which means I will work with you at your own pace, getting to the issues that are troubling you in a non-intrusive way. I will also hold in mind other theoretical approaches to help you explore and understand your problems. Our work will focus on developing the therapeutic relationship so that you will feel emotionally supported throughout your counselling. I will encourage you to feel free to be honest with me and your honesty will not be met with any judgment.
I am an experienced counsellor, working with clients with a variety of issues. I have also worked in an Emotional Wellbeing Centre working one to one with clients in addiction and survivors of domestic abuse. It is extremely rewarding helping people to finally make sense of their issues, grow more confident in their ability to face life’s challenges, trust their own judgments and take control of their lives.
I currently have availability on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
