What I offer:

Outdoor walking sessions in Greenwich Park (£65 for 50mins)

Greenwich Park offers the opportunity to work with your therapist in a beautiful and calming outdoor environment. The benefits of green space and exercise are well known and the momentum of walking itself can contribute to a sense of progression, with more secluded areas to stop and sit when needed. I work outdoors in all conditions (the weather and changing seasons can become a grounding aspect of the work) and so suitable clothing is advisable.

Online EMDR and/or talking therapy (sessions from £85)

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-researched and validated technique which stimulates the natural processing capacity of the mind. It is used widely in the NHS and is probably best known for treating trauma and PTSD. However, it is also effective for many other presentations including: anxiety and panic, phobias, complicated grief, addictions and pain. Qualification: EMDR parts 1, 2 and 3 (UK and Europe).

About me and my therapy practice

You may be feeling stress and anxiety related to everyday challenges at work or with relationships, or there may be deeper trauma that you want to work through. Loss, bereavement, discrimination, abuse and emotional neglect are common experiences which have the potential to impact us in the present even when the events occurred a long time ago. Sometimes the work can be about exploring more abstract aspects of life such as meaning and identity or searching for a sense of connection to self, others and the wider world.

As well as my work as a therapist, I teach counselling and psychotherapy to MA level, deliver training within the health service and conduct research into mental wellbeing. In a former life I also spent a decade working in the TV industry. As a BACP accredited therapist and supervisor, I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, undertake my own regular supervision and have a commitment to continuous professional development.

Practice description

The therapy I offer is integrative, enabling me to draw on theory and technique from approaches such as person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, gestalt and cognitive/behavioural modalities (EMDR sessions are delivered online and can be integrated with talking therapy).

The content and pace of our work together is always driven by you as the client, and my approach can be tailored to your needs. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, ethnicities, faiths and orientations, and I am committed to understanding and supporting each of my clients as unique individuals.

My first session

I usually suggest we meet online for a brief chat to discuss your needs and what would be a good fit for you in terms of therapy.

If we are working outdoors, our first session will take place in the park where I will run through some of the specific aspects of working in an outdoor environment. Then you can decide where you would like to walk (or sit) while we talk about what has brought you to therapy. If you would like to continue meeting, I normally suggest aiming for a set of six sessions initially, with the option of continuing longer term if needed.

If you would like more information or to book an initial chat, please get in touch at: carolinefrosticktherapy@gmail.com

Sessions from £75.00

Availability

As an experienced supervisor (trained in the seven-eyed model) I teach to MA level on university counselling and psychotherapy courses, as well as delivering training to health professionals. I offer regular and ad-hoc private supervision from £75 per hour with the flexibility to arrange longer sessions if needed.

I qualified as a therapist in 2014 and alongside more traditional face to face and online sessions, I have been offering therapy in a park environment for many years. This can feel like a very different way of working, however in my experience, the benefits far out way the challenges. I find clients (and therapists) who are drawn to working outdoors really appreciate the sense of connection to the natural environment, the neutrality of the space and the physical movement. I also offer individual and group training sessions covering aspects of outdoor working such as contracting, managing confidentiality and creating a safe, containing space.

Sessions are usually delivered online, however (if geography and availability allow) in-person meetings may be possible. If you are interested in finding out more about either supervision or training please email me at: carolinefrosticktherapy@gmail.com.

About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative therapist I am informed primarily by person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, incorporating aspects of other modalities and techniques including existential, gestalt and cognitive behavioural.

As a supervisor I welcome both students and newly qualified therapists, as well as those who are more experienced. I try to work as collaboratively possible, whilst understanding your individual needs as a supervisee.
