About me and my therapy practice
Based in Greenwich Park, It’s Good to Walk is a counselling and psychotherapy service that offers you the opportunity to talk to your therapist in a calming and neutral outdoor environment. The benefits of green space and exercise have been well-researched and the momentum of walking itself can contribute to a sense of progression. There are also more secluded areas where we can stop and sit when needed.
If circumstances arise where we can no longer meet in person (e.g. COVID-19 self-isolation) it is usually possible to continue our work together online.
For more information or to book a session please email Caroline at email@example.com.
The therapy I offer is integrative and primarily person-centred, enabling me to draw on techniques and theory from other approaches such as psychodynamic, Gestalt and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). The content and pace of our work together is always driven by you as the client. The therapy sessions are likely to take place outside in all weather conditions so suitable clothing is advisable.
As a BACP registered therapist I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, undertake regular supervision and have a commitment to continuous professional development.
My first session
Our first session will take place in the park and I will briefly run through some of the specific aspects of working in an outdoor environment. Then you can decide where you would like to walk (or sit) while we talk about what has brought you to therapy.
If you would like to continue meeting I normally suggest aiming for a set of six sessions initially, with the option of continuing longer term if needed. I do not offer open-ended therapy as I believe everyone has the potential to recover, and that the aim of therapy is to support you until you feel confident to move forward.
