Practice description

I offer two options for therapy; face to face & online

My first session

During our first session, which will be about 50 minutes long, we'll have the opportunity to delve deeper into your situation. I'll ask questions to better understand what brings you to counselling, and you'll have time to ask me any questions you may have.

I'll also take a moment to share a bit about my approach and take care of any necessary paperwork.

By the end of the session, we can both reflect on what the future options may look like and whether counselling feels like the right fit for you. It's a collaborative process where we'll explore together and ensure you have a clear understanding of what to expect moving forward.

About me and my therapy practice

My formal training as an Integrative Supervisor incorporates a qualification in Therapeutic Supervision at CPCAB Level 6.

With a background in mental health since 2011 and Counselling since 2017, I have amassed a wealth of experience in working alongside individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health troubles. From complex needs and neuro-diversity to the more common, lower-level mental health difficulties that many of us experience. As well as this, I have a robust understanding of addiction-related issues and interventions through personal experience and both agency and private re-hab work.

I also run a successful private practice alongside my day work for Oxfordshire MIND - embeded in children's social care working with adults that experience mental health difficulties.

Practice description

In my role as a Supervisor, I demonstrate an open passion for all aspects of therapy and the impact that it has on everyone involved. Consequently, supervision sessions can be both lively, engaging and challenging.

The sessions are lead by the Counsellor and I will tailor my style to thier needs.

With students for example, or those just starting, the sessions may contain more of a teaching element, gentle explorations around the why's and the work being done, working with the strengths the counsellor already has and helping them to grow as a practitioner.

With more experienced therapists, the work I do is much more of a collaboration/conversation between collegues, alongside elements of the above if appropriate.

However, in all the work there is proffesional oversight and much potential for ideas, ethical awareness, exploration, challenge, laughter, support, theory and an informal space in which to work.

For me as a supervisor, our work can only be truly effective for us both if we have our foundations set in a solid, understanding, non-judgemental, open, honest and candid relationship. If you are unable to bring those things, then please, in all kindness, do look elsewhere :)
