Until it's completely safe to resume face-to-face therapy in an enclosed space, I'm continuing to work from home offering video and telephone counselling.
I'm registered with ACTO and qualified to provide online and telephone counselling.
This means I can offer therapy to anyone in the UK, from the comfort of your own home (or other confidential space).
I offer a free 30-minute telephone or Zoom consultation if you'd like to find out more.
I will respond 8am-8pm 7 days per week, and can be flexible with appointment times.
Please get in touch - I'm here to help.
About me and my therapy practice
Do you need a safe confidential place to speak openly, with someone neutral and non-judgemental?
You may be looking to make some changes to your life or have a dilemma to talk through. Maybe you've lost someone close, feel isolated, anxious, stressed, or depressed, are having difficulty in a relationship, or have a problem that's preventing you from moving forward.
I'm about empathy - seeing things from your viewpoint - and working to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. I'm quite interactive, so you'll get much more than 'hmms' and 'uh-huhs'.
Working in a person-centred way means listening, understanding, and believing. Rather than giving advice or opinions, it's about exploring options together so that you can make your own decisions and choices. This can help with increasing confidence and self-esteem, by learning to trust your own judgement.
I always promote self-care to help increase self-worth. We will work at your pace, and you choose the focus of the session. My aim is to help you live your best life!
I have 'broad shoulders', am not easily shocked, and never judge whatever clients choose to share with me. Sometimes people are fearful of speaking about their feelings or showing emotion. Please be reassured that this is a normal part of the therapy and healing process and will be welcomed sensitively.
My response time is fast - usually within a couple of hours between 8am and 8pm - so please be reassured that I will get back to you asap.

Thank you for reading my profile - please do get in touch for more information or to make a booking.....
I've been a counsellor for 9 years and have completed over 3000 client hours. My core approach is called 'Person-Centred', which I have described above.
It's a gentle and compassionate way of working - I accept you for who you are, so that you can feel safe to be yourself. You choose what you would like to focus on and how much you want to tell me. We work at your pace to explore your feelings and concerns.
I promote Self-Care (being kind to yourself, putting yourself first, getting your needs met), Me-Time, and body-positivity. Learning to trust your instincts, ask for what you need, and assertiveness helps to increase confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.
Incorporating aspects of Mindfulness into our sessions helps with anxiety, panic, intrusive thoughts, depression, deadlines, focusing, relaxation, grounding and more.
I usually practice from a lovely, welcoming counselling centre in Bridgend, and offer telephone and online therapy. Currently all work is online video or on the telephone. During the Covid restrictions I'm based in my tranquil home-counselling room, which you will see if you choose Zoom sessions.
My private practice clients are adults, young adults (18+), Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) members, and college/university students.
Why not give counselling a try? I offer a free-of-charge 30-minute consultation so that you can decide whether you would like to go ahead with therapy at this time. I'm here to help and support you.
Concessionary rates are available for low-income clients and students (£30) - please ask for more information.
My first session
In normal circumstances, our first session will be one hour (50 minutes face-to-face) where we can:
- Discuss your concerns or problems that you're facing
- Explore any changes you hope to make
- and what you'd like to get from coming to counselling
There is a short client information form to complete, a privacy document to sign, and a counselling working contract to agree as we begin working together.
Currently - due to Covid19 - this information-gathering process can be completed and returned before your first session, or during your first video or telephone call. I'll email the forms to you beforehand and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Understandably the thought of coming to counselling can be quite daunting, but please be reassured that you and your feelings will be always treated with respect.
