About me and my therapy practice

Counselling provides time, in a confidential and safe place, for you to think about yourself and explore how you might make changes that could improve your life in a way that is meaningful to you.

___________________________________________________________

My Background:

I  was a Cruse Bereavement Care Volunteer from 2004 to 2009.  Since fully qualifying as a Counsellor, from Queen's University in 2007, I have counselled within post-primary schools; worked as a community-based counsellor in North and West Belfast and am currently an Affiliate Counsellor with a number of Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers, along with having my own private counselling practice.

Having trained and worked in Dublin, 2014/15, I am now based in Belfast, at venues in the BT7 and BT5 areas.

Finding Out More:

Counselling is a personal choice and may not be for everyone, so, if you would like to find out more about counselling and to explore if it is the best support service for you, I would be happy to meet with you for an initial consultation session to discuss this.

Practice description

I am currently offering online video sessions and telephone sessions.

Fees:

Telephone sessions: £35

Online video sessions (incl. audio only): £45

My first session

When working remotely, I would ask that we have a telephone conversation before your first session, so that I may share some important information with you about online and telephone counselling, and also to hear from you about what you would like support with.

I would then send you my 'Counselling Agreement' along with some other counselling forms, which will give you a better understanding of my counselling practice and what to expect when you come for counselling with me.

These forms would usually be sent by encrypted email with an e-signature tool, which means that you will not need to download or scan anything to be able to read or sign the forms.

Having the forms before starting your counselling means that you will have more time in your first session to tell me about yourself, the issues you would like to address and the changes you would like to make for yourself.
