About me and my therapy practice
Counselling = Time for You.
Counselling provides time for you to think about yourself and explore how you might make changes that could improve your life in a way that is meaningful to you.
My Background:
Since 2004, I have counselled within a wide variety of settings, (charity, education, community, employment and health) supporting clients from all walks of life.
I support people through exploring how healing, personal wellness, and growth can be achieved during, and after significant changes which we can experience throughout life:
- job loss,
- relationship breakdown,
- life stage transition,
- health issues,
- absent friendships,
- reduced self esteem,
- end of a valued role once held,
- loss of confidence,
- the menopause.
I work in an integrative way so that I can adapt my approach to best match you and what you need from counselling, keeping you and what is important to you at the centre of what we discuss.
Finding Out More:
Counselling is a personal choice and may not be for everyone.
*I also offer life coaching along with the option of a counselling-informed approach to life coaching - please click on the life coaching ('Trainer') tab at the top for more information.
If you would like to find out more about how you might best be supported, please contact me and we can arrange a complimentary telephone call to have a chat. Thank you.

Online video and Telephone Counselling Service
I am fully qualified as an online counsellor in addition to my primary counselling training.
If you are unsure about whether online counselling is for you, below are some things that may be helpful to consider:
- The online therapy platform provides an opportunity to access counselling from any place of your choice that is private, safe and comfortable for you.
- It could make the difference of being able to have a session at a time in your day that otherwise may not have been possible if having to travel to a counselling venue.
- Being in your own preferred space could provide the choice to take some extra time to yourself immediately after the session, before getting on with your day.
- For anyone who feels more than a little anxious about going to a counselling venue, telephone or online counselling could be the easier first step in accessing the support that you want.
My first session
After you contact me, I would arrange a brief complimentary telephone call, so that I can hear a little more about what you would like to be supported with.
You will also be able to ask me any questions, that you may have, about coming for counselling when we have that initial chat.

PURPOSEFUL LIFE COACHING
Living life purposefully involves making meaningful choices, that align with your values, so that you get to live your life in a way that feels personally rewarding.
Are there things you want to do in your life which you are just not getting around to starting or achieving?
Would you like help with:
- Getting clarity around what really matters to you?
- Embracing a self-compassionate approach to understanding what has been holding you back so far?
- Developing an intentional and purposeful way forward to create real change?
If you would like to have a conversation about life coaching and how it could be of help, please get in touch.

Beginning the coaching conversation...
To book an initial complimentary call with me, please use the message link or email me directly: eilismcintyre.coaching_counselling@pm.me.
What happens next...
After having the initial conversation, if you decide that you would like to go forward with life coaching, I will send you out my 'Life Coaching Agreement' along with other supporting forms, for your information and agreement.
Then we will get your coaching sessions underway.
- Counselling-informed Approach to Life Coaching
As an accredited counsellor I offer the option of including a therapeutic space within coaching for anyone who feels that they would like that additional support.
This could be useful if you know that you do not necessarily need counselling per se, but you feel that coaching may mean thinking about some aspects of your life that may be emotionally challenging.
NB: For clarity, significant mental health and wellbeing issues would not be addressed within the counselling-informed approach to life coaching, as these are best supported within a dedicated counselling process.
My first session
The initial complimentary call gives you time and space to talk about what you are finding challenging right now.
I will also let you know about my coaching approach so that we can get a real sense of whether or not we would make a good coaching partnership...there is no pressure to commit!
