About me and my therapy practice

Counselling provides time, in a confidential and safe place, for you to think about yourself and explore how you might make changes that could improve your life in a way that is meaningful to you.

___________________________________________________________

My Background:

I  was a Cruse Bereavement Care Volunteer from 2004 to 2009.

Since fully qualifying as a counsellor, from Queen's University Belfast in 2007, I have counselled within post-primary schools; worked as a community-based counsellor in North and West Belfast; delivered counselling in affiliation with local and international Employee Assistance Programmes; worked with community-based counselling services in north and south Dublin, as well as having my own private counselling service.

I am currently based in Belfast from where I provide one-to-one online video and telephone counselling sessions to individuals living in Ireland and the UK.

Finding Out More:

Counselling is a personal choice and may not be for everyone.

If you would like to find out more or to have a conversation about how you might best be supported, I would be happy to have an initial no-cost telephone consultation with you.

Practice description

Online video and Telephone Counselling Service

I am a qualified online therapist with level 2 professional membership of the Association for Therapy and Counselling Online (ACTO)

My first session

After you initially get in touch with me, we would arrange a time for us to have a telephone consultation, so that I may share some important information with you about online and telephone counselling, and to hear from you about what you would like support with.

If you decide to proceed with counselling, I would then send you my 'Counselling Agreement' along with some other counselling forms, which will give you a better understanding of my counselling service and what to expect when you come for counselling.

These forms would usually be sent by encrypted email with an e-signature facility, which means that you will not need to download or scan anything to be able to read or sign the forms.

Having the forms before starting counselling means more time in your first session to talk about how things are for you.

What happens next...

If you decide you would like to go forward with life coaching we would:

  • Schedule your initial consultation session to discuss what the best coaching support would be for you:
  • Get your coaching sessions underway;
  • Review your coaching needs as we work together;
  • Identify the learning and celebrate your achievements at the end of our coaching partnership.

My first session

The first meeting we would have is known as a 'Discovery' call via online video.

This is a no-cost 40 minute call which will allow us to clarify what you are finding challenging right now, and whether you could benefit from the life coaching I offer.

Whether or not you decide to invest in life coaching, you can still get a lot of value from having the call!

You can schedule a Discovery call with me at: https://calendly.com/eilismcintyre

NB: The initial Discovery call is not the first coaching session.
