About me and my therapy practice
I offer 1:1 short & long-term counselling and psychotherapy in North London. I have worked with adults and young people within both educational and therapeutic settings for fifteen+ years. I'm mindful of cultural diversity, beliefs and values and experienced working with a broad range of areas including:
- stress
- self-esteem
- anger
- depression
- anxiety & panic
- body issues
- family & relationship difficulties
- the experience of foster care
- gender & sexual relationship diversity
- loss and bereavement
- disability, long-term health & neurodiversity (autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia & other learning differences)
My approach is relational and non-judgemental. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is based on trust and honesty. Most importantly the way I work begins with listening. I am passionate about getting to know and understand those I work with to fully understand the difficulties they are experiencing and the goals they hope to achieve.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a broad range approaches informed by different theoretical and practice traditions in the field of therapy including humanistic, psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and body-oriented approaches to reflect your needs. I work relationally where the relationship between us is an important part of our work as a means to support you to explore challenges you may be experiencing.
You can expect a friendly, warm and confidential environment when working with me. My aim is to support you to explore the relationship between your past and present, and the integration of thoughts, feelings, physical and bodily experience. I will be honest, reflective, open, and curious in our work. Together we will create a space for you to look in and experience yourself, then gather the strength to make changes that you hope for and achieve greater vitality and meaning in life.
