About me and my therapy practice

I’m Jenny - a qualified counsellor based in Shoreham and Worthing, offering both short and long-term individual therapy. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in humanistic counselling from the University of Brighton and am a registered member of the BACP.

I believe that it is the relationship between counsellor and client, which is central to the success of counselling. My aim is to build a relationship with you based on trust, empathy, respect and integrity. Together we can examine the issues you are facing in your life and the mechanisms that you have developed to cope with these.

During our sessions we can explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings and the meaning that you give to them, in a safe space where you can feel heard and accepted without judgement. Together we will work towards developing a greater understanding of yourself and I will support you to evaluate and make decisions about your own life and your relationships with others.

Currently I am working as a part of the student counselling team at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College. I have previously worked for East Sussex NHS Trust offering counselling support to parents of young children across a variety of issues including: fertility, traumatic childbirth, post natal depression, miscarriage, low self esteem and relationship issues. I also have 3 years experience working at a low cost counselling service based in Southwick.

I offer an exploratory 50minute session for £20 so you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you and am able to offer appointments quickly and with flexibility.
