About me and my therapy practice

At times it can be difficult to understand our thoughts and feelings and be confused by our behaviours which can make life seem overwhelming, we can feel uncomfortable and stuck. This is often because of things you have experienced recently or from your childhood that you are struggling to make sense of or overcome.

By understanding our thoughts and feelings they can be less intense, we can learn new ways of managing them and start to feel that we have control back over our minds and bodies.

If you are having a difficult time, talking all of this through with a warm, empathic counsellor in a safe environment can be helpful. Clients tell me they feel really listened to and understood and have gained an understanding of themselves in the sessions they have had with me. Clients tell me that they feel they have experienced a “trusting relationship” and that “you get me”.

I am an experienced and professional counsellor, offering a warm, non-judgemental, professional and empathic service to clients. I draw on my experience of working with NHS clients, university students, student counsellors and women experiencing domestic abuse, in both my paid capacity and private practice.

I work via Zoom or Teams, I also provide some limited spaces for face to face work and offer limited Walk and Talk therapy, where we meet outside in nature for your counselling sessions, where it feels very healing and safe to talk through our difficulties, providing time away from our digital lives.

I have extensive experience of working with women experiencing anxiety and with men with difficult childhood experiences impacting their lives today.

Practice description

I work from home as this is a private space not shared with others, I work a lot via Zoom and will continue to offer this as I feel it allows clients more freedom of choice and flexibility of access. You do need to be aware that I share my home with pets, therefore, if you have an pet related allergies you need to be aware of this, you may also hear my pets during the session.  I am happy for you to have your pets in the session via Zoom.

To book an appointment with me call 07398 049217.

My first session

In our first session it is an opportunity for you to tell me about your experiences, what has brought you to counselling at this time and what you hope to work on during our time together.

I have a counselling contract which helps with our working relationship and we can work through this and I can answer any questions or concerns you have about counselling.

Some clients like to set goals for their therapy and have regular reviews, others like to figure this out as our work together unfolds, you can decide which is most helpful for you.

It is an opportunity to make sure you are comfortable working with me and to ask any questions you may have.
