About me and my therapy practice

Do you suffer with anxiety, depression, guilt or shame?

Do you feel isolated because of a breakdown in family relationships, separation or divorce, betrayal by friends or estrangement from community?

Do you need to recover from the impact of domestic abuse?

Are you suffering from post traumatic stress/post traumatic stress disorder?

Perhaps major life changes have left you feeling lost, stuck, confused, distressed and ashamed?

I am experienced in working with those who are distressed due to displacement, loss, trauma and abuse as well as adults who have suffered bereavement be it through death, divorce or broken relationships. Many of my counselling clients have suffered with anxiety and depression brought about by different difficulties in their lives, while others have struggled with symptoms of PTS/PTSD.

I am also experienced in working with clients who struggle with the strangulating effects of guilt and shame, as well as isolation, displacement, cultural issues, faith, diversity and a crisis of identity.

My training specialism is integrative. This means I can work flexibly, drawing on different approaches according to my client's preferences.

I offer general talking therapies as well as REWIND - a specific technique which helps with recovery from PTS/PTSD.

In our sessions, you will feel seen and heard because we would work in ways that suit your preferences.

If you would like to also work on practical goals such as life or career choices, as a qualified personal and professional development coach, I am well placed to work with you there too.

Do you need flexibility? In addition to face-to-face in person, I  offer sessions by telephone, video-link and email counselling.

About me and my therapy practice

Freedom from domestic abuse  therapeutic programme

• Has your experience of domestic abuse left you confused and bewildered?

• Or,  perhaps you struggle with conflicting feelings towards your abuser(s)?

• Do you wish to 'break the link' and stop the cycle repeating?

The Freedom from Domestic Abuse Therapeutic Programme will provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore the insidious nature of domestic abuse, and to work through some of the issues that might arise for you in the process.

A common experience for survivors of domestic abuse is a feeling of isolation/alienation/loss of community. So, here you will be learning along with a small group of other women in a community which aims to facilitate healing, growth and personal development.

You will learn to be more your authentic self.

You will learn to be self-compassionate.

Vitally, you will learn that you are not alone.

By the end of the programme, you will:

• Learn how domestic abuse works.

• Learn how you may have got hooked/or how you could potentially get hooked.

• Learn how to potentially break (and/or prevent) the cycle of abuse and abusive relationships in your life.

• Learn how you could begin /or continue to ‘untangle’ yourself from the impact of domestic abuse on your life.

• Learn how to be yourself again within a safe community.

• Learn that there can be a rich, fulfilling life after the trauma of domestic abuse.

The next group begins on Tuesday 16th March 2021 at 19:00.
