About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified BACP registered Counsellor and have been a health care professional for over 20 years.
You will find my approach warm, friendly and down to earth, making it easier for you to experience emotional safety, kindness towards yourself and to explore your concerns in a helpful and constructive way. I use skills and techniques which have been shown to be effective through scientific research, client experience and my own personal practice.
As well as traditional counselling and psychotherapy, I offer specialist help for recovery from trauma. Trauma is the impact on mind and body of things like divorce, bereavement, bullying, mis-carriage, giving birth and redundancy, as well as sexual, physical or emotional abuse. I am an experienced EFT practitioner (a specialist in trauma therapy and phobias) and a specialist breathing physiotherapist. (Trauma impacts the way we breathe. It can result in generalised anxiety and panic attacks. ‘Treating’ the breathing can help with the anxiety.)
My aim is to support you so that you can find relief, move forwards towards the life that you want and access increasing levels of wellbeing.
Main therapy qualification: Msc in Counselling and Psychotherapy (with Distinction). For more information please refer to my website: www.nicolapott.co.uk
