About me and my therapy practice
An experienced transactional analysis psychotherapist, I offer a safe, confidential space where you will feel heard, accepted and understood.
Transactional Analysis (TA) is an integrative therapy with roots in psychoanalysis. It offers a framework for better understanding ourselves and our relationships with others.
TA helps us make connections between painful events in the past and struggles in the present. For example, we may notice the same negative or destructive patterns keep repeating and want to change this.
If you start psychotherapy with me, the focus, content and number of sessions is determined by you and what you want to achieve. This is something we talk through at the initial session and review as we go along. My aim is that when you are ready to end therapy you feel more resourceful, have some good self-care strategies in place and a plan for what is next.
I am based in Greater Manchester, where I have been in private practice since 2017.
My clinical experience includes private and voluntary work. I specialise in working with adults who have experienced trauma in childhood.
I am qualified to Level 7 in Advanced Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.
I work from an integrative perspective and draw on different therapeutic techniques, tailoring my approach to suit my clients.
I am a registered member of BACP and abide by their professional standards and code of ethics. I am working towards accreditation.
KN Psychotherapy and Wellbeing is a busy private practice established in 2017.
Currently working exclusively online and by telephone. I’m based in Wigan in the North West of England and work with clients from across the UK.
I specialise in anxiety, stress and relationship issues. I have extensive experience working with childhood trauma and special interests in ADHD, OCD and workplace stress.
I work with people from a variety of backgrounds - professionals, creatives, students and retired people.
I am committed to anti-discriminatory practice.
Concessions: I am able to offer a small number of concessionary spaces to full time students and people on reduced income. Please ask ask about this.
My first session
I offer an initial 40 minute telephone consultation free of charge. This is an opportunity to tell me more about yourself and to ask any questions about therapy and how I work.
The therapeutic relationship is a very personal one and it is important that you find a therapist who is right for you. The initial consultation helps you to decide if you would like to work with me or not. If you choose to go ahead there is some admin and paperwork to complete before we start working together.
Usually I see clients once a week for 50 minutes. The first few sessions are most often about building the relationship, getting a better understanding of where you’re at right now and exploring in more detail you want from therapy.
