I have a therapy room in Chorlton, Manchester, where I usually see clients. Due to Covid-19 precautions I am not working face to face at present. I am offering online and telephone sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Greater Manchester. I offer a safe, confidential space where clients feel accepted and supported to achieve the changes they want for themselves.
We all experience difficult periods in our lives. External pressures can build up, affecting our confidence and wellbeing. Counselling can help us explore what’s happening and find a way forward.
Sometimes the struggles we experience in the present may relate to something painful in our past. For example, we may notice the same negative or destructive patterns keep repeating. Therapy can help us make sense of this and better understand ourselves, so that we can make new decisions about how we want to be in the future.
If you start therapy, the focus, content and number of sessions is determined by you and what you want to achieve. This is something we talk through at the initial session and review as we go along. My aim is that when you are ready to end therapy you feel more resourceful, have in place some good self-care strategies and a plan for what is next.
My experience as a psychotherapist includes private practice and voluntary work. I have a Level 7 Diploma in Advanced Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. I trained to work from an integrative perspective, drawing on different therapeutic techniques, tailoring my approach to suit my clients.
I am a registered member of BACP and abide by their professional standards and code of ethics. I am working towards accreditation.
My first session
I offer an initial 30 minute telephone consultation free of charge. This is an opportunity to tell me more about yourself and to ask any questions about therapy and about how I work.
Therapy is a very personal relationship and it is important that you find the right therapist. The initial consultation helps you to decide if you would like to work with me or not. If you decide to go ahead there is some admin and paperwork to complete.
Usually I see clients once a week for 50 minutes. The first few sessions are most often about building the relationship, getting a better understanding of where you’re at right now and exploring in more detail you want from therapy.
