About me and my therapy practice

I am an honest, compassionate counsellor offering the kind of down-to-earth no-nonsense approach I would have appreciated when I attended therapy.  I was a sceptical client, now turned therapist, so I have some idea of what you might be feeling.

I firmly believe that you will have been trying your best to live a good life (whatever that means for you), but we all need help and support at times. When you’re feeling anxious or depressed it can be tempting either to desperately power on through or to hide away, perhaps making matters even worse.  Seeking help is an essential first step to feeling better and as I learned myself, asking for help is not a weakness; it's a strength.

I listen without judgement in order to understand your unique circumstances and we work together to fulfil your needs and give you the ability to make positive choices in life.

I can help with a whole range of issues but I have a personal interest or unique experience in the following specific areas:

  • Anxiety & depression
  • Separation & divorce
  • British boarding school system
  • Childhood sexual abuse
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Anger issues
  • Health anxiety
  • Loneliness
  • Alcohol and drug use and abuse
  • Weight issues
  • Suicide

I trained for several years up to and including a post graduate diploma (Level 7) in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice and am currently completing a master's degree.

As well as working in private practice I have also worked with NHS and self-referred clients through both Age UK and Cruse Bereavement Support.

Practice description

I offer complete flexibility in terms of length and frequency of appointments. Like most therapists, I am happy to offer regular weekly sessions, but I also understand that a more flexible approach may be needed by some clients. Appointments can therefore be fitted in with both of our schedules and session length can vary between 50 minutes and 2 hours (charged on a pro-rata basis).

  • 50 mins - £50
  • 60 mins - £60
  • 90 mins - £90
  • 120 mins - £120

I can see you at my home office on the Wirral or in dedicated therapy rooms in Aigburth, Liverpool. I also work online by video call if that suits you better.

I am also able to offer walk and talk therapy sessions, which start and end at my home office on the Wirral.

Short notice appointments may be possible and I am happy to provide short or long term therapy for adults.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I have regular supervision and undertake continued professional development. I am also fully insured and hold a current DBS certificate.

My first session

In the first session, I am most likely to learn as much as I can about you.
