About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Lissa (she/her), a professional registered psychotherapist and counsellor providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment for short and long term one-to-one personal counselling tailored to your individual needs.

My counselling provides an environment to share issues and experiences that may be holding you back from living life as you would like to.

My specialisms are in client-centred therapy, trauma counselling and sports psychotherapy alongside extensive experience in a range of mental health problems.

Practice description

Rather than adhering to a single theoretical approach or technique, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, such as person-centred counselling, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and solution-focused therapy, to work in a way that's personalised for you.

This recognises that every person is unique, putting you at the centre of everything, helping to create a flexible and collaborative approach to counselling.

My approach emphasises your choice and empowerment, with you being at the centre of your counselling. We will work collaboratively on a journey of understanding and change. This form of therapy also emphasises the importance of ongoing feedback and evaluation, and allows for adjustments to how we work together.

My first session

I offer a complimentary initial 20-minute call (telephone or online e.g. Zoom/MS Teams) where you can discuss some of the issues you're facing, and determine if my counselling services are a good fit for you. I understand that beginning counselling can be a daunting decision, and finding the right counsellor is crucial.
