About me and my therapy practice
Whether we have suffered a life shattering event or we live with a feeling that something is missing in our lives, our resilience can become depleted. Repeated feelings of anxiety, stress and depression, left unchecked, can start to gain control over our everyday lives, keeping us stuck, unfulfilled and isolated.
I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MBACP) with experience of working with trauma and bereavement and I am here to help you overcome adversity and fulfil your goals, by providing you with caring, confidential and non-judgemental counselling.
I own a private practice called 'Happy Sisyphus Counselling - growing through adversity' and I am a sessional Counsellor for Circles South East as well as Anxiety UK.
Currently I also provide online Wellbeing Support to Health and Care Workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic through an initiative called Project 5.
Please note that I comply with the ICO Data Protection regulations. I own Professional Liability Insurance and I am committed to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Trauma refers to any situation that feels overwhelming and may leave you feeling distressed, anxious and unable to trust people. This may be caused by sudden events (such as an accident, loss and bereavement or a violent attack) as well as ongoing, long-term causes (such as ongoing physical and/or emotional abuse and neglect).
I strongly believe that people affected by trauma and adverse experiences have the ability not only to survive, but also to thrive. This is where talking therapy can help.
Every person is unique and there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to therapy. Therefore I draw on different modalities - mainly Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive and Existential - to tailor my approach to your individual needs. Together we can explore and discover the most helpful ways in which you may achieve your goals.
