About me and my therapy practice

I work on-line and via telephone with young people and adults and parents.

If you or your loved ones are experiencing difficulties in life and need to speak to someone I can offer a non judgemental, caring and confidential environment where you can speak about situations, difficulties and experiences that are causing you pain and distress.

I am a qualified, trauma informed, relational integrative counsellor. I’m passionate about helping people to accept and relate to themselves, others and the world in the fullest possible way.

I draw upon my own personal experience and journey in combination with my counselling experience and training to help me provide guidance and support to individuals as they explore the obstacles that prevent them from moving forward with their lives.

I believe you are the expert on yourself, as you know what heals & what harms, and that is why I look to you to come up with your own solutions.

I will be alongside you while valuing and deeply respecting who you are and the wisdom that you have within.

It is really important to find a therapist you feel you can build a good working relationship with, and who provides a type of therapy that suits you. For that reason I usually suggest that we arrange an initial consultation session to see whether or not we feel like we will work well together. You are obviously under no obligation to commit to therapy with me moving forwards.

Practice description

I qualified as a relational integrative counsellor in 2010 when I completed the BACP accredited Postgraduate Diploma course at Newport University South Wales in 2010.

The core of my counselling training a Person Centred and Integrative approach to therapy with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I offer a treatment for overcoming traumatic memories relating to sexual abuse, domestic abuse, bullying, road traffic accidents, sudden loss etc.

I am can help to treat phobias such as fear of insects, spiders, needles, emetophobia etc.

I have over 12 years experience of working with children, young people and adults, and I love what I do. I feel passionate about connecting and helping others find happiness and to reach their highest potential. I feel grateful for the process of sharing and I recognise the courage it takes to open up with others.

I am trained to provide parents with Anxiety Support via the SPACE Programme - Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions, developed by Eli Lebowitz from Yale Child Study Centre. This requires working with the parent(s) instead of the child, to achieve successful results in eliminating debilitating anxious childhood behaviours.

I am currently working towards a certificate to qualify as a Somatic Release Therapist - This is a body centric approach which works by helping to release stress, tension and trauma from the body. A body up approach, rather than and thinking top down approach.

My first session

I offer a free no obligation initial 15 minute telephone conversation when requested where we can look at the challenges that bring you to therapy, this is also a chance for you to ask any questions, to get a feel of how I work and if I’m the right therapist for you.
