About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Gemma.

I'm based in the Scottish Borders but also offer sessions online.

Are you feeling low, anxious or stressed?

Do you find yourself lost and unsure as to why you are feeling this way?

Or maybe life has thrown you something unexpected which has knocked you off course?

Maybe counselling could help.....?

I can offer a kind and compassionate space to share your worries and concerns. Listening without judgement as together we explore your challenges.

Practice description

I work with individuals over the age of 12 on a 1:1 basis, either face to face from my rural garden room in the Scottish Borders or online via zoom.

I work from a pluralistic perspective; I believe that when life gets hard, different people need different things at different times to help. We are all individuals and therefore therapy should be tailored to our specific needs.

I firmly believe that you are the person who knows yourself best, even if you currently feel a little lost. I can listen without judgement and work with you to find yourself and your next step.

Sessions can incorporate creative methods, for example using visualisation, nature, stones, sand and art materials, alongside talk to help you gain understanding of your experience.

My first session

Prior to your first counselling session I offer a free 15 min phone call, this will allow you to get to know me a little bit to see I might be a good fit for you.

In your first counselling session, we would generally begin with a discussion around what to expect from from our sessions together followed by an invitation to discuss around what brings you to counselling.

Together we can then plan a path forwards. I may offer you options and ideas to choose from but will work with your preferences. I welcome your feedback, it helps me to make sure the sessions are tailored to you.
