About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for reading my profile. I am sorry if you are struggling at the moment.
I have looked after many people who are experiencing mental distress. Anxiety, stress, depression - these can creep up on us or happen quite suddenly. Sometimes life just gets too hard and we fail to cope. You might be able to identify why you feel the way you do or it may seem a mystery but either way, talking to someone impartial can really help. I believe strongly that mental health is no different to physical health in that systems can become unbalanced and give us problems. Counselling can help to rebalance your mind.
My style is Integrative which means I will assess individual needs and tailor my support accordingly. I have always felt this is better than offering only one way of doing things. We will work together to find something that works for you. I am also a chartered Physiotherapist which gives me a particular understanding of the body, of pain and its consequences.
A good therapist is an insightful listener but we can also do practical or creative exercises. You can learn about Mindfulness or CBT both which can give you helpful and practical ways to improve how you feel. You have options.
