About me and my therapy practice

Life can be unpredictable and some experiences can cause reactions we don’t fully understand. Counselling can help gain relief and clarity, helping you to find a healthier way forward. Hearing your thoughts and feelings out loud, in the presence of a trained professional can bring about shifts in awareness and perception. Facing your concerns or fears can feel empowering, helping you to feel more in control.

With counselling you will gain an understanding of why you are feeling the way you are, working together on an equal level we can find a healthier way forward. I understand that revealing your thoughts and feelings to a stranger is not always easy, I have utilised therapy myself in previous years for things such as post-natal depression, work-related anxiety and empty nest syndrome and I found the experiences positive and immensely invaluable. As a trained counsellor I am able to provide to you a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic environment where trust can be built, allowing exploration to flow naturally when the time is right for you. I will support you and encourage you throughout.

My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming safe environment where together we can explore any worries, problems or issues that are causing you any distress, sadness or anxiety.

I am also offering walks in nature as a form of therapy, the NHS currently advocate the positive effects of eco therapy and I agree that holding sessions in the open air can improve our wellbeing.

I have over 25 years’ experience in both educational settings and the NHS working with varying age groups and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationships, trauma/ PTSD, bi-polar, autism and ADHD to name but a few. I am a member of BACP

Practice description

I have a private practice offering face to face sessions inside my therapy room as well as offering telephone and zoom video sessions.  As I live beside the sea and the Norfolk Broads I can also offer eco therapy- walks in nature, these are sessions held outside which are either walking with social distancing or seated again with social distancing in a quiet peaceful area, walking in nature has been proven to be very therapeutic.
