About me and my therapy practice
Hello! I’m Sarah, a qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellor. I’m here to help you find a way through the emotional issues and difficulties you might be experiencing.
It can be hard to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable. Yet the relationship you have with them will play a key role in your journey forward, so it’s important to find someone who feels right for you.
At this stage of your search it might be helpful to know that people find me to have a warm, personable, and compassionate approach. My broad experience includes working with anxiety and relationship issues.
I'm a professional, friendly, and empathic person. I offer you a therapeutic space to explore whatever you're experiencing. Together we can explore your emotions, thoughts and experiences with compassion .
I endeavour to help you increase your own understanding and awareness. Through working together, the aim is for you to gain some clarity, alleviate painful parts of what you’re living through and find your best way forward.
People come to therapy for a range of reasons and I welcome you whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, problems at work, low self-esteem, distress, stress, anger….the list goes on.
I adopt a humanist (or Person-Centred) approach to therapy. I believe that deep down you know yourself better than anyone else and with some help can find your own resources to bring about the change you’re looking for. I provide you with the environment and opportunity to reflect upon, understand and determine a way forward.
I work with adults on a one-to-one basis.
I offer counselling sessions both indoors in my therapy room, and outdoors through ‘walk and talk’. My therapy room is in North Nibley and the ‘walk and talk’ sessions are held in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside around the North Nibley area.
If you prefer remote sessions, then I also offer sessions via video or phone.
I usually meet you weekly, and sessions can continue for as many (or few) weeks as you wish.
My first sessionI offer a first session at a reduced fee of £30. This is to help you find out what it’s like to work together and decide whether you feel that further sessions with me would be helpful.
During this session we begin to explore what brings you to therapy, as well as what you'd like to achieve from it. Crucially, the session you can begin to gain some sense of what it would be like to have sessions with me and whether you feel that my approach and style might be a good fit with you.
