About me and my therapy practice

"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself." (Rumi).  A few months ago, were you thinking about starting therapy? A few months from now, will you still be thinking about starting therapy? Or instead, will you already be well on the path of feeling more solid and centred in your life?

Imagine what that could feel like.

You possess the innate ability to create profound and lasting change in your life. As a psychotherapist, I provide an authentic and safe relationship to help you achieve that, through exploration, support and challenge. Using a straightforward style, I take a bespoke approach with each client, allowing your needs to guide our work.

I believe passionately in de-mystifying the therapeutic process and showing up as my fully human self with you. I bring my empathy, my humour, and even my sweary vocabulary to the connection - because I am a human first, therapist second.

More About Me: I come from a 20yr background in social care. In my spare time, I enjoy running, art and independent music gigs.

My pronouns are she/her. It is important to me that my practice is intersectional, trauma-informed, and affirmative of all nonheteronormative/nonconforming ways of living/being. I undertake my own work on anti-racism, anti-ableism and anti-oppressive practice on a continual basis.

Practice description

I have worked extensively with anxiety, uncertainty and upheaval, trauma, self-esteem, depression, feelings of emptiness/ detachment, sexuality/identity, emotional abuse, family and relationship problems, work stress, chronic illness, childhood emotional neglect, reproductive issues, bereavement. I find myself working with a lot of people in their 20s and 30s who feel a bit "lost" and are struggling to find their life's direction and a sense of their true self.

My main approach is psychodynamic - I am keenly interested in the formative and sometimes unconscious experiences which influence the shape our current day lives. I enjoy working at depth - sinking into the stuff of real life and finding understanding, creating a sense of solidity and trust within ourselves. I also sometimes incorporate EMDR as a tool to heal unresolved trauma or “stuck” places - this can be used either in-person or online.

I am once again offering face-to-face sessions. My office is centrally located at Chancery Lane, Holborn, (WC1V), where I also offer early morning and late evening availability.

I also offer online therapy, which can be more convenient for people with limited time, mobility, access or availability.

I offer a reduced fee initial consultation at £45, allowing you to discuss the issues you'd like to focus on, and to decide if I'm the right fit for you as a therapist. Please feel free to text/email/call me to arrange a consultation session.

Following on from the first meeting, sessions are weekly, either short-term or longer-term. Fees are £85/hr.

I dedicate 20% of my availability to concession slots - we can discuss your personal circumstances if this is of interest.
