About me and my therapy practice

I have 20 years experience in various Counselling & therapy roles, including schools, GP surgeries, charities and community-based services. I previously worked for an Iapt service within the NHS and Employer-Assisted services and am now working solely in private practice. I work from a comfortable Counselling Centre in central Herne Bay using a creative & Integrative model which is flexible to suit individual client needs.

I have more recently specialised in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which can effectively treat a variety of issues including anxiety, grief, phobias, PTSD and trauma-related issues. My approach is relaxed, empathic and containing, and humility and acceptance are important qualities which help define my style of working.

I am a registered Art Therapist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), a registered & accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP-Accred), & an Accredited EMDR Practitioner with the EMDR Association UK.

My first session

I usually suggest setting up an introductory initial appointment to gather information and see how you feel about working with me. There is no obligation to continue, and I support the option of trying several therapists to find the right fit.
