About me and my therapy practiceI have more than 15 years experience in various Counselling & therapy roles, including schools, GP surgeries, charities and community-based services. I currently work for an Iapt service within the NHS, and in private practice. I offer short-term and long-term therapy in Herne Bay & Broadstairs, Kent, using an Integrative model which incorporates elements of Developmental Psychology, Psychodynamic and Humanistic theories.
I have more recently specialised in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which can effectively treat a variety of issues including anxiety, grief, phobias and trauma-related issues. My approach is relaxed, empathic and containing, and humility and acceptance are important qualities which help define my style of working.
I am a registered Art Therapist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP), member of the British Association for Art Therapists (BAAT), member of the EMDR Europe Association.
