About me and my therapy practice
COVID 19 update: All my work in Scotland is currently offered online only, to comply with social distancing and to keep us all safe.
Having worked almost exclusively by zoom since March 2020, I choose to continue now as I can say it has proved to be a fruitful and helpful method of counselling.
Although Zoom is my main platform, I also work by telephone or email if this is preferred.
I’m a qualified Relate counsellor and I work with couples and with individuals who are worried about their relationship. Maybe there’s a feeling of growing apart and losing the ability to communicate, maybe there are arguments, or silences or there’s been an affair, maybe not. Everyone’s experience is different.
I always listen to you carefully and empathically. By helping you to find new ways to be heard by your partner, you can both discover what you need emotionally and you can ease the pain and disconnection of communication difficulties. I can help you to do this, to understand what has caused the issues and then to work together towards a solution that’s right for you.
Finding closeness and that sense of belonging again can improve not only your relationship but other difficulties in life also.
I offer personal warmth to create a feeling of acceptance and safety in our sessions.
As a registered member of BACP I want to enable you to feel listened to and understood. This safe, non-judgmental time allows you to work through problems with my support.
Practice description
I trained and worked with Relationships Scotland as a couples counsellor and work with couples and individuals over the age of 18. Counselling can be about relationships issues and can also help with issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss of many kinds.
I have additional training and experience in working with asynchronous as well as synchronous therapy. This means that I can offer therapy by asynchronous means such as email where our respective email messages are written some time apart, by arrangement. This may work well for you if you live in a significantly different time zone from GMT.
I have experience of working with visually and hearing impaired clients and find that for those with difficulty hearing, the written format of email may again be a helpful medium for therapy.
Telephone therapy can be a preferred option for people with visual impairment, and can be organised to include couples therapy as well as individual.
I am trained in coaching as well as counselling and if you are interested in what coaching can offer, please get in touch.
My first session
You may feel unsure whether counselling can help you and what it would involve.
To help you to explore your options, I offer a free 15 minute introductory telephone call. This no-obligation conversation lets us find out about each other and whether counselling with me is suitable for you.
When you would like to, please contact me to set this up.

About me and my therapy practice
COVID 19 update: Face to face is back. In line with the BACP guidelines I offer some limited in-person therapy as well as continuing online, where my main platform is by zoom although I can offer telephone and email sessions if required.
Having worked almost exclusively by zoom since March 2020 I choose to continue now as I can say it has proved to be a fruitful and helpful method of counselling.
I’m a qualified Relate counsellor and work with couples and with individuals who are worried about their relationship. By helping you to find new ways to be heard by your partner, you can both discover what you need emotionally and you can ease the pain and disconnection of difficult communication.
As well as secure, confidential online therapy for couples and individuals of 18+ years, face to face therapy is back, where possible, in a safe and managed environment. Please get in touch for details.
